I have read all the books in this series and most of the books in Janet Evanovich's other series。 This is a well-written series, enjoyable to read。 Janet's characters are always very likable。 This series is about an FBI agent and a former Art Burglar。 They work together to solve crimes。 I have read all the books in this series and most of the books in Janet Evanovich's other series。 This is a well-written series, enjoyable to read。 Janet's characters are always very likable。 This series is about an FBI agent and a former Art Burglar。 They work together to solve crimes。 。。。more

(1 1/2)。 I have enjoyed some of the earlier Fox and O'Hare stories, but this one takes fluffiness to a new level。 Silly, sillier and silliest are all working here, as the story winds all over Europe with amazing feats and miraculous escapes at every turn。 I do enjoy O'Hare's father, and Jake is front and center for a fair amount here which certainly helps。 Either way, this book is anything but memorable。 Very medium stuff。 (1 1/2)。 I have enjoyed some of the earlier Fox and O'Hare stories, but this one takes fluffiness to a new level。 Silly, sillier and silliest are all working here, as the story winds all over Europe with amazing feats and miraculous escapes at every turn。 I do enjoy O'Hare's father, and Jake is front and center for a fair amount here which certainly helps。 Either way, this book is anything but memorable。 Very medium stuff。 。。。more

#7 in the Fox & O'Hare mystery series by author Janet Evanovich, this time with Steve Hamilton as a co-author。 This 2021 series entry is definitely plot driven, but what a great plot。 A great caper novel has Fox & O'Hare and their fathers, assisted by a professor of Germanic literature and an ex-member of the SAS discovering parts of a coded map to a treasure trove of stolen gold (400 tons of it)。 The intricacy of the clues and the environments they relate to is really top-notch, I don't know ho #7 in the Fox & O'Hare mystery series by author Janet Evanovich, this time with Steve Hamilton as a co-author。 This 2021 series entry is definitely plot driven, but what a great plot。 A great caper novel has Fox & O'Hare and their fathers, assisted by a professor of Germanic literature and an ex-member of the SAS discovering parts of a coded map to a treasure trove of stolen gold (400 tons of it)。 The intricacy of the clues and the environments they relate to is really top-notch, I don't know how much is due to co-writer Hamilton in his first outing with the series or Peter Evanovich, who the writers acknowledge for contributing to the original story idea。Forced into an unlikely partnership by the FBI, Special Agent Kate O'Hare and international conman Nick Fox have brought down some major criminals together, but nobody this big: A vast international organization known as The Brotherhood。 Directly descended from the World War II Vatican Bank priests who served Hitler, they're now searching for a lost train loaded with $30 billion in Nazi gold that has been hidden deep inside a labyrinthine maze of tunnels in the Tatra Mountains of Eastern Europe, untouched for over seventy-five years。 The key to bringing down The Brotherhood and finding the fortune they're hunting lies in the hands of one man - the man who taught Nick Fox everything he knows: His father, Quentin Fox。 Quentin's desperately trying to find the same train, and The Brotherhood will stop at nothing to get there first。 Pursued by relentless assassins, Kate and Nick quickly learn that the only way to save Nick's father is to join the hunt and put themselves between the bounty and The Brotherhood。 Enter Jake O'Hare, Kate's own father。 In order to save Nick's dad, she'll need Jake's help。 The only problem: He gave Kate her grit and her stubbornness - which means they can never agree on anything。 From a remote monastery in the Swiss Alps to a secret CIA safe house in London。。。 From the rugged mountains on the Polish-Slovak border to the lawless desert of the Western Sahara。。。 Against all odds, Kate, Nick, and the two men who made them who they are must solve the mystery, save their families, and stop the Brotherhood in the biggest and most deadly adventure of their lives。 。。。more

Those who have read a Janet Evanovich book knows how much effort she puts into every book, to make it as entertaining as possible。 This is what we have found in all her classic Stephanie Plum books。 When she launched the Fox and O’Hare series, it was just as memorable a series of books。 The first five books were written with Lee Goldberg, the sixth with her son Peter Evanovich。 Now with book series she works with best selling author Steve Hamilton to bring another dimension to the series。 THE Those who have read a Janet Evanovich book knows how much effort she puts into every book, to make it as entertaining as possible。 This is what we have found in all her classic Stephanie Plum books。 When she launched the Fox and O’Hare series, it was just as memorable a series of books。 The first five books were written with Lee Goldberg, the sixth with her son Peter Evanovich。 Now with book series she works with best selling author Steve Hamilton to bring another dimension to the series。 THE BOUNTY is a wild ride from first sentence to last with a constant barrage of excitement, chases, and perilous moments。 Special Agent Kate O’Hare and noted con man Nick Fox once more team up to try and foil a plot to steal the Pope’s gold ring。 It would be a momentous heist if successful, and they plan extensively for the theft in Vatican City。 But soon they become aware that the ring was not the grand prize。 Instead it was a map that is the key to finding billions of dollars in Nazi gold bars that were hidden at the end of the Second World War and left untouched。 Many have tried to find the fortune, but now a clandestine organization known as the Brotherhood wants to find it just as badly。 The person incidentally behind the heist of the map, was Nick’s father Quentin who is made from the same type of cloth as Nick, out to break rules and break the law, for personal gain。 Nick beats a hasty retreat once it was noted his father was the thief, the two trying to locate the train where the billions rest。 Kate’s father Jake also enters the picture making for a fantastic foursome as they are on a mission to locate the gold。 But so are the members of the Brotherhood, a murderous organization who will kill anyone who stands in their way。 This results in one death-defying confrontation after another, with Kate, Nick and company barely escaping with their lives。 But the bad guys also seem to have nine lives, resisting death as well。 The interactions between Kate and Nick are as classic as before, a love/hate relationship that gets more intense with every book。 While THE BOUNTY is not the strongest book of the seven, it still is a satisfying read, and will be appreciated totally by Fox and O’Hare fans。 。。。more

Better than book 6, but not as good as 1-5Ms。 Evanovich needs to get Lee Goldberg back as co-author in this series。 While this one with her son was 100 times better than book 6 (I certainly didn't have to force myself to finish this one), it wasn't nearly as well written as other books by her。 No major con, no intricate plot, and th characters were not their usual 3 dimensional selves。 If this had been another author, who was newer to publishing, I would say it was a fun read and leave it at tha Better than book 6, but not as good as 1-5Ms。 Evanovich needs to get Lee Goldberg back as co-author in this series。 While this one with her son was 100 times better than book 6 (I certainly didn't have to force myself to finish this one), it wasn't nearly as well written as other books by her。 No major con, no intricate plot, and th characters were not their usual 3 dimensional selves。 If this had been another author, who was newer to publishing, I would say it was a fun read and leave it at that。 Unfortunately I expect a lot from this one, because I know how wonderful she can be。 After book 6, I refused to buy another one in this series, and just wait for the library copy to be available。。。may buy this one if it ever goes down in price on one of the e-book sites 。。。more

This book was a total waste of time。 Scaling the Eiffel Tower? Ice climbing? Really? The search for Nazi gold。 What a farce and so implausible it was laughable。 Glad I read a library book and didn’t waste money as well as time on this dud。 Too many other good books on my “to read” list。 I’m sorry I wasted my time on this one。

Kate O'Hare is even more fun than Stephanie PlumJanet Evanovich never disappoints。 She can always be counted on to come up with goofy characters and weird plots。 This one is particularly complex taking the reader all over Europe to many places we have visited over the years and a great many places I have never heard of。 Kate O'Hare is even more fun than Stephanie PlumJanet Evanovich never disappoints。 She can always be counted on to come up with goofy characters and weird plots。 This one is particularly complex taking the reader all over Europe to many places we have visited over the years and a great many places I have never heard of。 。。。more

I gave it 3 stars because it’s a drastic improvement over the last book in the series。 It seemed they were trying to get the characters back in line with the original books but I felt the story was more action driven, not character driven as with the first 5 books。I LOVED everything about the first 5 books。。I was immediately attached to every character。 The con jobs were exciting, funny and I couldn’t wait to see how it played out。 I will say book 6, as a stand-alone, is ok。。。this one。。。trying b I gave it 3 stars because it’s a drastic improvement over the last book in the series。 It seemed they were trying to get the characters back in line with the original books but I felt the story was more action driven, not character driven as with the first 5 books。I LOVED everything about the first 5 books。。I was immediately attached to every character。 The con jobs were exciting, funny and I couldn’t wait to see how it played out。 I will say book 6, as a stand-alone, is ok。。。this one。。。trying but still not there。 I borrowed from the library since I made the mistake of purchasing 6 with the anticipation of my favorite series continuing and I think this series will in the future continue to be a borrow。 。。。more

Evanovich & Hamilton are a great writing team!Action from the get go, that just keeps on coming! New characters brought into the series that add to the fun。 This is a myth turned into a mystery that is just fantastic (however you define fantasy)。There was a bit less of the Fox & O’Hare repartee that has been a great source of amusement。 However, “The Bounty” moves at such a fast pace, there isn’t a lot of time for kidding around … the characters raced for clues, while fleeing an enemy tightly on Evanovich & Hamilton are a great writing team!Action from the get go, that just keeps on coming! i have never not finished a book by janet evanovich。。。。until this one。 underwhelming and boring, which is unfortunate considering my love of the other books in the series。 really enjoyed these characters and storylines in the past but this one was not a slam dunk。 it lacked everything there is to love about kate and nick and their adventures。p。s。 the book description of kate and her father never agreeing on anything is obviously far from the truth。 honestly, just what?!??
